Derg Valley Care & Healthy Living Centre

June Bulletin out now

Derg Valley Care in Partnership with Volunteer Now and Citizens Advice Online

can offer opportunities for volunteers to be part of two new initiatives for Castlederg.

Transport Buddy and Digital Champion Training

You can :-

  • Gain experience in a training role
  • Get a rewarding voluntary opportunity with a tangible outcome
  • Add something great for UCAS/C.V
  • Give something back to your local community
  • Meet new people and be part of a team
  • Use your skills to help others

Volunteer Roles

  • Transport Buddy

Volunteer transport buddies accompany trainees on a number of journeys until they have the knowledge and confidence to make the journeys independently. This is a very rewarding opportunity as you will clearly see the positive impact on the trainees life allowing them to get to and from college, work or just out and about on their own.

  • Digital Champion

Digital champions help participants to gain confidence in using computers and tablets. This is very rewarding as you can make a big difference to isolation and loneliness, enabling vulnerable people to use email, skype, shop and search online.

The roles are flexible and may only require 2-3 hours a week, this will be agreed according to participant need and your availability.
